Cosplay Newbie

I don't even want to talk about how late this is. I'll just get right into it. Colie and I decided that for Denver Comic Con this year we'd make a few changes. Last year, we only went on one day (Saturday) and we walked until our feet fell off. This year we stayed all 3 days, and we booked a hotel for one of the nights. It felt almost silly booking a hotel in Denver when we are just 40 minutes drive away to home, but it was actually really, really nice. It gave us one night to just relax early, the hotel was great (except the automatic blinds...one was short-circuiting or something so it kept opening and closing all night...loud and annoying!) Now that it is October November, the changing leaves and cold winds bring a sudden reminder; it's time to start planning for Anime Boston 2018. Which reminded me, I never wrote my blog for AB 2017 OR Denver Comic Con 2017. Clearly I'm bad at this, or just too good at procrastinating. But I digress, it's time to get in gear and before I start really focusing on 2018 I need to square away 2017. 2017 was a great Con Year, with new additions and great cosplay. Anime Boston, Day One. Colie and I misread the plane times for our flight to Boston, and for the first time ever we missed our flight! We arrived just as they stopped allowing checkins for the flight, and in a scramble John came to our rescue and found us a flight to Boston about an hour later. We had been procrastinating. Dragging our feet and stalling every Sunday, and while Colie and I managed to get a lot done, we found ourselves at the end of February with a long list of things still to do, and con was waiting just around the corner. So, Colie and I decided to have a "cosplay marathon" where we lock ourselves in our craft room and cosplay all day, getting as much done as possible! On February 26, a Sunday, we started around 12, and all motivation died after a hefty spaghetti dinner at 6pm. However, I was able to get a few things on my checklist done! This cosplay might be another one of my favorites. It's going to be comfortable, and better yet, Colie and Manda will be cosplaying from this show as well! While I will be cosplaying a human version of the pony Applejack, Colie will represent the unicorn Rarity (who is often ad odds with Applejack even though they're friends...Rarity likes staying clean and elegant, Applejack has no qualms getting her hooves dirty) and Manda will be portraying the pegasus Rainbow Dash (Also BFF's with Rarity and Applejack, but often competes with Applejack on which one of them is the sportiest). This is a casual and fun cosplay that I am looking forward to! Apple Jack's outfit is made up from clothing I had, and a few items I found in stores. The boots were a Walmart find, the cowboy hat came from Spirit of Halloween, and the tank top was a Goodwill find. The plaid shirt and jeans were something I already had.
